The role of a manager is highly challenging for the individual. Our management development sessions recognise
how vital their contribution is in assisting the organisation to achieve its goals and objectives.

The sessions can be delivered either as individual one day course or we can develop a modular series of
sessions to ensure staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to be effective leaders.

The training is designed to be practical with good practice techniques and strategies provided. Participants are
encouraged to participate throughout the training through group discussions, case studies and experience sharing.

The training will provide participants with the skills to:
Motivate staff, manage and improve performance
Review and challenge their leadership style and practice
Examine your organisations current practices and future planning
Share and learn from each others experiences and knowledge

This training is delivered by our Senior Associate Consultants who all have operational experience at a
senior management level and are aware of the challenges facing managers within today's social housing environment.

NEW TO MANAGEMENT ?
We have developed a highly successful 3 day management development programme aimed at staff with no previous
management training, or existing staff such as team leaders and supervisors who wish to review and develop their
leadership skills to enable them to deal effectively with everyday issues and challenges.

The course will be run over three days, and include:
MODULE ONE – AN EFFECTIVE LEADER/MANAGER
Leadership styles, Communicating effectively, Developing assertion skills, Motivational techniques,
Adapting your approach to get the most from others, Key coaching skills, Working with partners and agents

MODULE TWO - MANAGING PERFORMANCE
Coaching for improved business performance, Culture, Strategy and Performance goals,  Setting standards and objectives
Work monitoring and appraisal, Giving and receiving feedback

MODULE THREE - MANAGING PROJECTS AND PROCESSES
The importance of projects in achieving strategic business objectives, Clarification of specific responsibilities
required in an effective project structure and approaches to obtaining commitment and involvement,
Use of appropriate project methodology and appraisal, Applying creative thinking to real life situations and
encouraging innovation, Problem solving, Presenting information effectively.
